What this is, and what it is not
Rausa Russo Law, PLLC does not practice personal injury law. We are a consumer-protection firm. When someone comes to us injured, we do two things: we introduce them to an experienced personal injury attorney in our referral network, and, because injuries so often bring medical bills, collections, and credit damage, we handle that consumer-protection side ourselves.
Personal-injury representation is provided by the attorney we refer you to, not by Rausa Russo Law. Learn how our referral works →
Where an Injury Becomes a Consumer-Protection Problem
Many injured people discover a second problem sitting on top of the first: while an insurance claim is still being sorted out, the medical bills don't wait. Balances get sent to collections. Debt collectors start calling. Errors land on a credit report. That part (the collections calls, the credit damage, the disputes) is squarely what our firm does.
If a debt collector is harassing you over accident-related medical bills, or those bills are affecting your credit, we can help under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act, while the personal-injury attorney we refer you to handles the injury claim itself.
Attorney AdvertisingAttorney Advertising. This page describes a referral service. Rausa Russo Law, PLLC does not litigate personal injury cases in-house. Personal injury matters are handled by an experienced personal injury attorney in our referral network. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. When we refer a personal injury matter, the attorney who handles it will explain their fee in their own written agreement. If our firm shares in that fee, it will do so only as New York’s Rule 1.5(g) permits: you must agree in writing after full disclosure of each lawyer’s share, each lawyer assumes joint responsibility for the representation in a writing given to you, and the total fee must not be excessive.
